Important Taxi Union Guidelines (Read Before Booking)
1. The Pahalgam Rule (Local Taxi)
Srinagar vehicles are allowed to drop clients at Pahalgam hotels. However, for sightseeing within Pahalgam (Aru Valley, Betaab Valley, Chandanwari), clients MUST hire a local Pahalgam Union Taxi. Our vehicle will remain parked at the hotel.
2. The Gulmarg Winter Chain
During heavy snow (Dec-Feb), normal tires cannot climb from Tangmarg to Gulmarg. Only vehicles with anti-skid chains are allowed. Usually, clients must hire a special ‘Chained Sumo’ from Tangmarg (approx ₹2500-3000 return) paid directly.
3. Sonmarg Zero Point
Srinagar vehicles go up to Sonmarg stand. To visit Thajiwas Glacier or Zero Point (Zojila), clients usually need to hire ponies or local union cabs based on road status.
4. AC Policy in Hills
AC is switched off during steep hill climbs (Tangmarg to Gulmarg, Pahalgam ascent) to prevent engine overheating. It works normally in plains.
